If you are keen to start your first worm bin but don't have any worms yet ask one of your friends that has been running a worm farm for a while if he/she would help you out with a small starter population of worms or have a look at a compost heap in your garden. There will be a good chance that you might find some worms in it. Compost worms "Eisenia fetida" can be found on all continents except Antarctica and as they love rich organic matter they very often find their way into well maintained compost heaps. If you find them in a heap just take some out and use them to start your worm bin. If you are prepared to spend some money to get worms but don't know where to get hold of them have a look at our

where you should hopefully find a worm supplier in your country that will be able to help you get your first worm herd. Starting worm composting is really worth it and you usually will never have to buy worms again as they continue to flourish and multiply in a well run worm farm :-)
