ground poultry mash as worm food???

by Hubertus
(Münster, Germany)

Here is another good question from Mr. Schlamann from Germany!

----------

Dear Mr. Kloppert,
I don´t understand, what you mean by ground poultry mash.
I have mot found the correct translation in German.
Do you mean chicken feed. In the feed trade I can get:
Legemehl für Hennen

I try to translate this into English:
Laying meal for hens (female chickens)

Is it also a good idea to feed finely ground Frolik (dog food)? I think there is much protein in this food.

With great pleasure I would get your answer

Sincerely

Mr.Schlamann

PS: I have read your book with great delight

Answer:

Dear Mr. Schlamann,

it was nice to hear from you again and I am pleased you enjoyed my book :-) "How to start a profitable worm business on a shoestring budget"!!

Let me answer your questions for you. Yes you guessed correctly, poultry mesh is chicken feed!

You could as well feed ground Frolic or any other dog food to your worms but may I ask why you want to do this? Do you want to grow big worms?

If so you could save yourself the costs of investing in expensive animal feeds and rather use dog poop for example. It is an excellent worm fattening food if used correctly!

I wish you all the best for your worm composting project!

Kind regards

Stephan Kloppert
