Vogelkot in einer Wurmfarm?

Ich bekomme von meinem Nachbarn viel Kot von Zuchtvögeln. Dieser ist oft längere Zeit in einer Tonne gelagert und enthält viel Ammoniak und viele Futterkörner. Kann Vogelkot überhaupt im Wurmkomposter verarbeitet werden und was muß ich beachten?

Hallo,

und Entschuldigung für meine späte Antwort. Kompostwürmer sind generell sehr hart im nehmen und können viele Materialien fressen die man nicht erwartet hätte. Vogelkot ist wie von Ihnen erwähnt voll mit Amoniak und das kann ein Problem für die Würmer darstellen wenn sie zuviel davon bekommen. Ich würde vorschlagen ein wenig Vogelkot in eine Wurmkiste zu geben und über den Zeitraum von einigen Tagen zu beobachten ob die Würmer den Vogelkot fressen oder nicht? Ich glaube das sie ihn in geringen Mengen durchaus fressen werden, habe es aber noch nicht selbst ausprobiert was ich in den nächsten Tagen aber nachholen werde.

Lassen sie uns wissen ob und wie ihr Experiment mit dem
Vogelkot verlaufen ist.
